At the Wellington-Manawatu meeting the Chairman said it will doubtless be pleasing to the share holders and the public to learn that arrangements have been with the Government by which through passengers to stations on the New Plymouth and Wanganui line are no longer required to change carriages at Longburn Junction, and that henceforth a reduction on the sheep rate from Wan* ganui and stations northwards to the extent of 3d per head had. been arranged for ; while horned cattle, ■ taking into account the recently "increased accommodation in cattle trucks, are carried from Wangauui arid stations north at a reduction of 2s- 7d , per head. . - •?■■-
