Another Scene in Parliament

A Sydney paper has the following —Just before the Legislative Assembly broke up the other morning, *t half-past 4, Mr M'Elhone called attention to the cowardly conduct of the Minister of Education in making mischief between himself and Mr Ma.-: theson by giving the latter wrong information about Mr M'Elhone's statements concerning the White Rock mine. He called Mr Inglis a " cowardly Scotch dog," and made use of other uncomplimentary epithets. Just then the House broke up, and Mr M'Elhone walked out on the Opposi* tion side, and Mr Inglis by the Ministerial side, towards the Speaker's ■chair. Stung to the quick by the last remark made by Mr M'Elhone, the j Minuter for Education made a rush, as if he desired a personal encounter with the senior member for the Upper Hunter. The Postmaster- General, however, caught him, and Mr Inglis at once subsided. Mr M'Elhone threw Hmself into a position of defence— " prepared to receive cavalry"— but several members got in front of the volcanic and bellicose member, and he was prevailed upon to walk out of the Chamber, roaring out his defiance to -the Minister of Education. A very discreditable scene within the precincts of the Legislative Chamber was thus prevented, but there is evidently a set determinadon upon the part of Mr E'Elhone to get to close quarters with Mr Inglis, which will probably find vent at no distant date.
