In many of the streets bodies have been found in a standing posture, frozen to death. A tremend- ; ou3 gale occurred at sea at the same time as the storm was raging on land, and over 200 wrecks strew the coast from Chesaneake Bay to New York, and the loss of life is incalculable. The effects of the gale were felt with particular severity in Delaware, Maryland, and New York States. Beblin, March 20. At a Communist meeting, General Boulanger was strongly denounced. A number of Deputies belonging to the Left nave issued a manifesto protesting against : General Boulanger's pretensions. General Boulanger will probably be relegated to the retired list. - ; Sydney, March 21. The press generally resents the ' action of Her Majesty's Advisers in connection with the refusal of the Eoyal assent to the Divorce Extension Bill. Melboubnb, March 21. Some time ago a torpedo was lost in Hobson's Bay and has; never been seen since. This afternoon it exploded near Wiiliamstown, causing great consternation. Several Indian army agents have arrived here to purchase horses, for army purposes in India. The maximum price offered is £50. Adjsi-aidk, March 21. The exodus of South Australianfarmers still continues, large numbers' of agriculturalists leaving this colony every week for Victoria and other colonies. To-day a deputation of farmers waited on the Commissioner of Crown Lands. They asked that the Government should either distribute seed wheat to all Crown tenants actually engaged in agricultural pursuits, or that they should be allowed a remission of their rents. The Commissioner promised that he would care* fully consider each case on its merits.
