Inconsequence of the number of disorderly scenes in the Legislative Assembly recently, the Government hare cabled to the English Government for a copy of the Procedure Rules adopted by the House of Commons with a view to proposing the adoption here of such of the nen rules as may be suitable to tie circumstances ot a colonial legislature. There have been over sixty incidents of a disorderly character this session.
Information to hand from New Guinea states that the German Company has spent over a quarter of a million in exploring the country. Large sugar plantations have been started, which, it is anticipated, will prove very successful, native labor being cheap and abundant. The Company is encouraging emigration from Australia.
Trident, Abercorn, Cran brook, and Lava have been scratched for the Sydney Gold Cup.

An elderly man named Isaac Greer wounded his wife severely last night, and then shot himself dead. The couple had only been married 12 months, but they quarrelled frequently It is slated that Greer was drunk when he fired the shot.
