At the Supreme Court, Edwin N olan was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for robbery with violence. James Dixon was fined L 36 for assault on a boy. Mary Ann Mclntosh and Ambrose Wickens were discharged for assault on John Mclntosh

In the cricket match, Hawkes Bay y. Wellington, the latter won the toss, and went to the wickets. The score up to the luncheon adjournment stood at 263 runs for 7 wickets.
