A BEAMAN DEOWNED. Later particulars show the Pleurae ran ashore on Thursday night, through the Captain mistaking Kapiti Island for Stephen's Island. At daylight the passengers (5 in number) and crew reached the shore in boats. Ihe captain's boat was capsized, and a seaman named Belshaw was drowned. The survivors were hospitably entertained at Mr Feild's house, .near Waikanae. There seems no chance of getting the vessel off, but her cargo is expected to.be Bayed. The value of the cargo was estimated to be worth about £35,000, and that of the vessel about £15,000. The insurances hare not yet been made up.
