THE WILDBORE PETITION CASE.
His Worship the Mayor has forwarded us the following letter for publication := — Wellington, Bth March, 1887. Sir, — I am directed to inform you that the petition signed by yourself and other residents of the Feilding district, on behalf of Charles Wildbore, now undergoing a sentence of nine months imprisonment for assault, has i been duly submitted to His Excellency the Governor, who can Bee no sufficii ent. grounds to justify his complying with the prayer thereof. Will you kindly inform the rest of the petitioners of the result of His Excellency's decision.— l have the honor to be, Bir, your most Obedient Servant, A. Hume, Inspector of Prisons. To His Worship the Mayor.
