The Railway Station and Post Office
Thb new buildings in the course of erection at the Feilding Railway Station, will prove a great convenience to the tra rolling public as well as an ornament to |the town. The aocom* modation for the officials is everything which can be desired and will enable them to perform their duties with greater efficiency than in the old buildings which have done duty for so long. But, in our opinion, the improvement does not go far enough. The present Post Office is altogether too small for the amount of business done. The official room may be large enough for a time, but the public room is now miserably insufficient to accommodate the public. We have frequently had our attention drawn to the fact that when, say, twelve or fourteen persons are collected waiting for the mails to be sorted, the place is unpleasantly crowded. This is not as it should be, and we hope the authorities will see their way to grant forty or fifty feet more standing room.
