Education Board
The Education Board for Wanganui District hare decided that as the money they will receive from the Government for building purposes has been reduced from £3000 or £'5000 to about £1600,f0r the future they will grant £ for £, received from settlers in districts where it might be found desirable to establish or enlarge public schools, towards the cost of such schools, to the extent of funds available. In the amended report of the Finance Committee the following proposals anent teachers salaries were made : —
With bonuses according to scale. Fe- j male assistants two-thirds the above rates. It was also recommended that the scale payment of a head teacher in a school with an attendance of 136 to 161 should be £185.
