By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright [per united press association.! Sydket, February 22. Serious bush fires have occurred in the Albpry district, and these were started by lightning. Several of the farmers in that district are heavy losers owing to large numbers of sheep being burnt. In the House of Assembly a crisis has arisen over the. erection of the State House as proposed by Sir Henry Parkes. The bill which provides for its erection has met with a good deal of opposition, and Sir Henry threatens to resign should it be repealed. The captain of the excursion steamer Undine, which ran down a steam launch on the day of the sculling match between Clifford and Kemp, and by which two lives were lost, has been committed for trial on a charge of man* slaughter. Melbouenb, February 22. Tbe man Grecock who was convicted of a murderous assault on Mr Collins, stationmaster at Glenhuntly, in December last, has been sentenced to death. Bbisbanb, February 22. It has been ascertained that two more men lost their lives by the floods at hockhampton. The schooner Golden Isle, formerly a New Zealand trader, has been wrecked during the hurricane at Stonage Bay. The steamer Victoria, about whose safety tears were entertained, has ar* rived at Cooktown safely.
