Following are the traffic returns for the Wanganui Section for the four weeks ending December 10th, 1887, and the corresponding period 1886 : — 1887 1886 Passengers ..1992 16 6 2260 11 5 Parcels .. 223 6 2 208 4 1 Goods .. 2483 14 11 2731 12 3 Miscellaneous 230 13 4 218 811 £4930 10 11 £5418 16 8 Although the amount of freight received was less than in 1886, yet the tonnage of timber and goods carried in 1887 was greater.
