*. Mr Oliver of the Empire Hotel advertises for a respectable girl to act as nurse. We learn that Mr E. Collins draught entire horse Guy Fawkes died at the Manchester mill, Taonui, this morning. The horse had been in the habit of stopping at Mr Adsett's once a week, and last night was taken bad. Mr Morphy wa ssent for, but in spite of his efforts the. horse succumbed. A post mortem examination ' will be made to find out the cause of the horse's death. The loss will be a heavy one to Mr Colhns. Th« following appears in Saturday's Napier Telegeaph :— At the fi.M. Preeoe, Esq., Valentine Harrison was charged that he did on or about the 27th November, at Napier, feloniously with intent to de» fraud, forge a certain endorsement on a promissory note, for the payment of the sum of £27 10s, being an indictable offence. At the request of Inspector Bullen, accused was remanded till Monday. In addition to the 51 members present at yesterday's Ministerial caucus, 7 or 8 more were "accounted for," including some of the staunches t supporters of the Government, so that the actual strength of the Ministry is very great.
