George Thomas and Co report produce prices :— There are no changes to report in grain and breadstuffe, and prices remain as last quoted. Oats continue in fair demand at Is 9d to Is lOd for long feed, and 2s to 2s 2d for short milling. Oafen straw and sheaf chaff is very plentiful, and large quantities are being placed on the market from Blenheim. We quote £3.5s and £4 5s per ton respectively. Oatmeal, from £9 5s to £9 10s, according to brands; flour, roller £10, stone £9 10s; wheatmeal, £10; fowls' wheat, 3s 9d; common do, 3s 6d; bran, £3 1Os • pollard, £4 per ton. Maize has improved a trifle, although a small shipment would again reduce prices, the demand being so small; 3s 7d to 3s 9d are now the ruling rates per bushel. Feed barley, 2s 9d ; beans, 3s 9d ; peas, 3s 9d Old potatoes are more briskly inquired for than we anticipated; this may be accounted for by the fact of the small consignments reaching . this market of the new crop, in consequence of the low realisations which have been and are now ruling ; prime old samples command £2 to £2 os and the new round descriptions Id per lb. Onions of good quality remain scarce at 2d per lb; cheese is hard to move at prices from 2d to 4d per lb ; hams and bacon are also at a discount unless the quality andgel«up are really excellent—farmers* cure ranges from 2d to4d, and factory 6d to 7d per lb. Eggs are fully supplied at 9d per dozen ; honey, 3£d to 5i per lb ; fresh butter, 4d to 6d ; salt do, unsaleable. Auckland lemons ruled from 10s, and Sydney oranges, according to condition, 7a 9d to 108. Bhnbarb commands 5s per dozen. We anticipate large Fill shipments to arrive on Monday, when the market will be supplied with bana* nas, cocoanuts, pines, &o. Poultry comes fo hand vsrj slowly, fowls, ducks, geese, and turksys -Btftfl| tn<^^d for at 3s 9d, 4s 6d, 7s and 8s per pair respect* ively. '• ..-•'. : - : ,-.
