It was agreed to lay the hospital circular on the table till, next. meeting of the-Couneil, and that the Secretary be written to acknowledging circular, and asking for further informatiou. The requests. of T. Hirst and Sing Hop were referred to the Public 'Works Committee with power to act. Tne Engineer, £a xepLy to the Mayor, explained the nature of the Worfc required by Mr Foster, and a fihorfc «wv«reation was held on the coattor, Rafter whica it was resolved athat the application be not entertained. Gir liembridge -called attention to the aetid <of a eiiiyert near his pro--pex^f la Westet£m, and staid he was prepared to assist the Council in the matter.
