George Thomas and Co. report produce under date of Saturday, April 30th, as follows :- -The latest advices re butter, from Sydney and Melbourne, quote prices at 9d and lOd respectively, kegs in, with a good demand, and some fairly large parcels have been sent on for sale and returns ; the. result, after deducting charges, -including duty 2d per lbat Melbourne, and* Id at Sydney, will not be very encouraging, but farmers are preferring to accept low prices rather than hold Accumulated stocks for an indifi-\ nit* period. A fair amount of business is being transacted in grain and' winter feed, and we quote good feed oats, 2s; short milling samples, 2s 2d; - oatmeal, £10 ss; sheave chaff, £4 10s ; straw do £3 10s ; flour, sacks £10 per ton; wheatmoal, £10; bran £4 ; pollard, £4 10b ; fowls' wheat, broken 3s 3d whole 3s 6d, per bushel ; feed barley, 2s 9d; maize, 4s 6d; peas, 3s fid ; beans, 3s 9d ; cocksfoot grass seed, 3£d per lb ; rye grass, 3s 9d per bushel ; prime onions, £7 per ton; Derwent potatoes, Oamaru, 55s per ton ; fresh butter, 7d to 8d ; cheese dull at 4£d to 5d per lb ; eggs are almost unobtainable, and worth from 2s 9d from really good parcels; honey, 4d to 5d per lb. There is no improvement in price or demand for poultry, aud we still quote fowls 3s, ducks 38 6d, geese 5s and turkeys, 9s per pair. Large consignments of Hobart and Sydney fruits are now on the "market, and prices show a decrease en former - realisations ; apples are ruling from 5s and 7s 6d ; pears 7s to 16s; oranges, 7s to 7s Sd ; lemons, 10s to Us per case ; quinces are ruling from 7s per cwt ; peanuts, 3d per lb ; i cocoanuts, 10s per sack ; pie melons, ts ; water melons, 3s 6d ; and rock melons, 6s per doz."
