A Terrible Murder in Queensland

A telegram from Eorua states tha Mr Edwin Hawkins, chairman of th< ifuxiUa Divisional Board, was found dead in his bed, at Teiriboo station, ou Saturday morning, shot througt the head, evidently while asleep. The ball had passed out of his head and through the pillows and bedding and WM found on .the floor. Mr Hawkins appears not to have moved, and therefore death muot have been instantaneous. The ball entered the back of the head. The only white people in the dwellings gn that night were the servant, a man named G. W. hie wife. The sergeant - ••of police has arrested Clayton and his wife on suspicion of the murder. The body of Mr Hawkins was buried at Gondamiue yesterday, the whole township and also friends from the iurrounding districts attending the iEuneraL "The deceased genfleman ytsto a, son of the. Rev.
