Presbyterian Tea Meeting at Awahuri
I The Presbyterian tea meeting took place at Awahuri on Friday last, when the following "programme ; was gone through :— Choir, •• There's a light in the Valley;" addresß .by Rev. Mr Wright ; pianoforte ! solo, Miss Atkinson ; choir, " I long to be there ;" address, Rev. Mr Murray ; Mrs Fraser, solo, " Too Late ; " choir, "Memories of Galilee;" address, Rev. Mr Doull; duet, Misses Or. and M. Macdonald, "As one by one our friends depart" (encored) ; Mr Crossman, solo, "Anchored" (encored); address (humorous) by Mr Fergusson, votes of thanks were proposed to the ladies who provided tea, and to the ladies and gentlemen of the choir. These were carried by acclamation; Miss Atkinson, pianoforte solo, " How beautiful upon the mountains." The refreshments were excellent, and- the proceedings passed off without any hitch. The attendance was good, and interest sustained to the close. The benediction brought the affair to a conclusion.
