Land Sale at Christchurch

(PBB UKITKD PBKSS ASSOCIATION.) Chrißtchuroh, April 9. The Lansdown estate, .eight miles from Christchurch, the property of Sir Edward William Stafford, was offered at auction to-day by C. Newton and Son. No bid was received for the property in one lot, consisting of 2576 acres of splendid land, with residence, grounds, and ornamental plantations. It was then offered in subdivisions, of which two situated at the opposite extremities of the estate, comprising 159 acres and 28 acres, were sold at £31 and £31 18speraore respectively. There was keen inquiry for the unsold sections. It is esti- j mated that eight year ago the property would have brought nearly double this.
