A Violent Lunatic

[fer united press association.] Timabv. April 9. A lunatic named W. Albert, a butcher, from Longbeach, was to-day remanded /or treatment. On being re-conduoted to his cell, he asked for a drink, and was given a pannikin of water which he a minute after tore to pieces, and made a determined effort to cut his throat ; but not succeding, began dashing his head violently against the cell-door. He was secure! in time to prevent his doing much damage, and taken to gaol for restraint and treatment.
