A heavy galo of wind from the N.W prevailed here yesterday. A magnificent meteor was scon here on Saturday night about 7.30. The banks will be closed on Friday, Saturday, and Monday. Volunteers for tho Easter Encampment will leave by train on Thursday afternoon at 6.15. Mr Charles Bull, of Aorangi, warns p u-sons, in the persuit of game, not to trespass on his lauds. Several poachors wore out on Sunday last and mado some good bags of native and imported game. Wo understand that all Borough rates now outstanding are to be sued for without further notice. It is looked upon as a sign of returning prosperity that a pawnbroker has commenced business in Wanganui. Nominations for the Foxtou Autumn Eace Meeting will close on Thursday next, the 7th instant. We have to thank Mr J. C. Thompson for Press tickets for the Bazaar to be held in the Temperance Hall to-morrow. All persons trespassing with dogs on sections Nos. 12 and 13. Mr Downs' property, Kimbolton road, will be prosecuted. The notices to policyholders in the Government Life Insurance Department, resident in this district, arrived this morning. With the train services for the Easter holidays we publish to-day the arrival and departure of trains from Feilding on Easter Monday. Wilson will probably address the electors at Foxtou on Tuesday 12th inst., and at Otaki later on in the week. Mr D. R. Lowers returned from Home to Feilding on Saturday last. The objects and intentions of the venture aro the support of the interests of Politics, Eoligion, Literature, and Science. Tho Mothodist Bazaar has received gifts and donations from Wellington, Otaki, Woodville, and Halcombe. We again remind visitors to the Bazaar that the admission charge of Is will bo allowed on any article they may purchase. The Mayor will open the Bazaar to-morrow at 2 p.m. On Sunday night some larrikins or other eyil-disposed persons, threw a couple of stones through the windows of Mr Christeuseu's house in Grey street. Mr Christonsen has a shrewd suspicion of the parties, and will proceed against them. This is the second time these windows have been smashed. We remind our readers of the lecture entitled " Tho teaching of the Twelve," by the Eev. Mr Treadwell, at the Presbyterian Church to-night. The subject is one of absorbing interest to all, and in the hands of such a capable lecturer as the Eev. Mr Treadwell, a large attendance may safely be predicted.
