♦ [By Electrio Telegraph. — Copyright.! Tbeutbb's telegrams. I Sydney, April 1. Nelson did a splendid two miles' gallop at Randwick this morning. He continues first favorite for the Sydney Gold Cup. The Treasury returns of the revenue of the colony for the past quarter amounted to £1,805, 206, an increase of £21,758 compared with the corresponding quarter of last year. The Customs during tlie quarter increased £20.528, and the railways increase! £44,867. The revenue for the year, whicli ended yesterday, amounted to £6,682,324, an increase of £332,675 compared with the year ending March, 1886. A large meeting will be held at the Town Hall te»night for the purpose of opening a relief fund for the sufferers by the Bulli colliery disaster. The chiiir will be taken by the Mayor, and the Governor will be present. M elbooene, April 1. It is now certain there will be ii large surplus at the close of the financial year. Adelaide, March 31. The revenue ot South Australia for Inst quarter amounted to £511,000, a decrease of £111,000 compared with that of last year, The Customs rerenue has decreased £35,000, and the net revenue from taxation shows a decrease of £32---000.
