WELLINGTON MARKETS.

Wellington, February 26. George Thomas and Co. report produce prices as follows . — The market quotations for grain remain in much the same condition as when last reported. Oats are coming to hand somewhat freely, and rule at Is lOd to 2s for feed, and 2s 2d for short milling grain. Oaten sheaf and straw chaff continue in ample supply at £4 10s to £3 15s reapectiTely ; oat« meal, £11 ; fowls' wheat, good whole, 4s; broken, 3s 6d. Flour, old stocks have not yet been replaced by the new grist, aHd is ruling at £11 per ton for sacks. Bran and pollard, in consequence of a demand from local dairy farmers, has somewhat improved in value, pollard being firm as £4, 15s and bran £4. The following lines are without alteration : — Barley (best feed) 2s lOd ; common tail* ings, 2s 8d ; maize, 3s 7d ; potatoes, kidneys, £3 ss ; Derwents, £3 ; onions, £7 to £8 ; cheese, 5d ; hams and bacon, ' 7d; salt butter, 6d ; fresh, 8d ; honey, 4§d ; rye grass seed, 3s 9d per bushel ; cocksfoot, 3fd to 4d. The week has brought fairly large supplies of fruit from Sydney, Hobarfc, Melbourne, the Islands, and Nelson, which all meet a fair demand, and in some instances really excellent realisations have been maintained. Fears, plums, peaches, and good eating apples being specially enquired for ; and the other lines comprise oranges, pines, damsons, lemoms, water melons (realising 3s per dozen), and rock melons, 7s per dozen. Eggs are firm at Is 3d. Poultry is fairly saleable, at old quotations, shipments have been larger than usual. We quote — Turkeys, 9s ; geese, 4s ; ducks, 3s 6d to is ; fowls, 3s 3d to 3s 6d per pair.
