Wellington - Manawatu Railway
To those desirous of selecting- good: agricultural and pastoral land in suitable blocks, an announcement in another column should be a special iuterest. It will be seen from our auction columns that on Tuesday the Bth March Messrs T. Kennedy MacdmaM and Co., the well-known auctioneers, Wellington, will sell on behalf of the Wellington-Manawatu Hail way Company, some fifteen thousand acres in the Company's freehold purchased' land, lying between Shannon and Tokoraoru. This is a portion of one of: the blocks purchased from the native owners, and for year&past it has been the aim of various private buyers to secure the block, of which the land in. question forms part, but were unable to induce the owners to sell. It is well known to be of good quality, and; as the company offer specially liberal terms to induce bona fide settlement the sale should be a successful 'one. The auctionegrjs state, in their advertisement, that : the aim of the Company being to sell their lands to bona fide occupiers and so create traffic for hne, high prices arc- not looked for. In order; to faciliate intending purchasers visiting the lands a special scale of fares has been issued, from which it will be seen that upon applying to.the_ auctioneers a return ticket, will be issued from Longburn to Tokomaru for Is 6d.
