A GERMAN LOAN FOR MILITARY PURPOSES. By Electric Telegraph.— Copyright. (beuter's telegbams.) Beelin, Februray 3. i M. Serbetta, French Ambassador, had an interview with Prince Bismarck yesterday and endeavoured to re-assure the Chancellor concerning the position and intentions of General Boulanger, French Minister of War.
A report is current on the Bourse that a German loan for £3,000,000 for military purposes will shortly be placed on the market. This report has caused a renewal of the recent panic on Contin- i ental Bourses. Later. It is now reported that the impending German loan is for three hundred million marks. London, February 4. A report that Germany has sent an ultimatum to the French Government, has suspended business on the Paris Bourse. Consols have declined §. The Einporor Francis declares that the precautions taken by Austria do not mean that she has any intention of going to war.
