Narrow Escape From Collision

(pee unitkd press association.) Wellington, February 2 Yesterday there was a narrow ; escape of serious collision on the railway line outside ox Palmerston. There is an incline into the town, and the I mid-day train to Wanganui was just climbing the assent and rounding the curve when the morning train from Wanganui came into view. Luckily neither were at full speed, and the application of the brakes brought them to a standstill a short distance from one another. The passengers had a good fright.
