Stock Report

Messrs Stevens aud Gorton report : • — Our last report was just prior to our Horse Fair at Bulls on the 14tli iust. Since theu we bave hold three stock eales,at Awahuri, Marlon, ami Folding. The Horse Fair was dull; a good main entries came forward, hut the buyers for the . southern market were frightened to venture owing to the low pricos at their last sale there, and we cou-.equeutly were only aide to sell a dozen horses. Locally, tho sale at Awahuri was a decided success, and a large quantity of stock was sold at good prices, but the recent dry weather affected both our Marton and Feildiug sales, especially the latter, which was tbe dullest we have had for

some time past, though we were ahlo ~*t& sell a good many of tho stock. Wo anticipate, now that the weather has apparently broken, better prices at our coming sales, and buyers will have a good chance to put up some good lines of sheej) at our Ram Fair on February 8. We quote the following rates for the above sales : —
