The Wool Markets

Since the opening of the series 50,000 bales have been catalogued, of which 2,900 have been withdrawn. Messis Jacomband Co. report an average rise on scoured merinos of fully 10 per cent., other sorts from 7 to 10 per cent., good lambs 10 per cent., cross-breds from sto 10 per cent. The correct number j of bales available is 250,000. The wheat market is depressed, and no fresh sales are reported. The supply is above the market demands. Quotations for Australian cargoes on the spot are unchanged. Sellers of the new crop are asking 27s 3d.
