The cricket match Shaw and Lilywhite's team v. the Australian eleven commenced to-day The Englishmen went first to the wickets and remained there all day, scoring 259 for the loss of 7 wickets. On resuming next day the Englishmen's innings closed for 280. The Australians oaly managed to put together 132 in their first innings. It is stated that if Mr Dibbs will not resign the Colonial Secretaryship, Sir P. Jennings will on Monday next tender the (iovernor the resignation of his Government as a whole.
The men hanged for the Mount Rennie outrage were buried by friends on Saturday last. January 10.
