Feilding Borough Council
The usual fortnightly meeting of the above Council was held at the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday evening last Present — His Worship the Mayor, Crs Thompson, Worsfoid, P. Thomson, Evans, Lyne, and Fowles.
minutes. ' The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. The following communications were read: —
From the Secretary of the Hospital aud Charitable Aid Board, re subsidy forwarded by the Council for charitable aid.
RESOLUTIONS. Proposed by Cr Worsfold, seconded by Cr Evans, That the application of Dr Johnston oe granted, subject to the approval of the Borough Engineer. — Carried.
Proposed by Cr Thompson, seconded by Cr Evans, That Mrs Gold be allowed 10s per week till next meeting of this Council, on condition that «he charges her husband with desertion. — Carried.
Proposed by Cr Worsfold, seconded by Cr Fowles, That the Town Clerk be instructed to terminate the engagement with M. Keen, re rental of cottage. — Carried.

From M. Keen, re house occupied by Mrs E. Beltit. w. Mr J. Elliott, re destitute condition of a Mrs Gold and family at Makino. From Dr Johustou, asking permission to make a crossing to his property in Pool© street. From J. C. Richardson, re fallen trees obstructing Shenvill street, and damage done by same to fencing. From W. Stevens, re commission on certain dogs he had caused to be registered. i
ded by Cr Lyne, That the subject of Mr Richardson's letter be referred to the Public Works Committee, with power to act. — Carried. DOG TAX COLLECTOR. Applications were read for the position of Dog Tax Collector from the following:— W. D. Nicholas, F. R. Fowles, A. Anyon, K. E. Batten, J. Turaer, and C. Gray
A ballot was taken, with the following result : — J. Turner, 5 votes ; A. Anyon, 1 ; C. Gray, 1
Proposed by Cr P. Thomson, seconded by Cr Worsf->ld, That Turner be appointed Dog Tax Collector for the ensuing year. — Carried.
Proposed by Cr Lyne, seconded by Cr Thompson, That the Dog Tax Collector find securities for the due discharge of his duties, the amount to be the same as that found by the last collector. — Carried.
TENDERS. Tenders were received for the formation of the Cemetery Road as fol-
lows: — Hubner aud Riuk, £16 16s ; A. Eng, 19s 8d per chain.
Proposed by Cr Fowles, seconded by Cr P Thomsou, That the tender of Hubner and Rink for the Cemetery road be accepted. — Carried.
For forming and metalling Derby and Muvlborough streets two tenders were received, viz: — J. Beifit, £190 198 fid; Younger and Laiag £'l77 t's 4.1.
Proposed hy Cr Fowlps, sei;on>lo>l by Cr WorsfoM, That the tendor of Younger and Laing be accepted. — Carried. The Council then adjourned.
