Melbouene, January 7.
The Hon. Mr Gillies has telegraphed to the Agent-General the following particulars in connection with the Melbourne Centenary Exhibition: — A commission has been appointed with Judge Higin> both am as president, Sir Jas. Mcßain Sir Win. Clark, M r Peter Lalor, and Mr Lisgood, as vice-presidents.
No fresh oases of small-pox have been reported at the quarantine station, where the patients are progressing satis* factorily.
It has been ascertained that the men John and Robert Lewis, who stuck up the National Bank in Albert Park, and who were stated to be new arrivals, are both from Sydney, where they were well connected.
Lees, the pugilist, who was brought from New Zealand under the Extradition Treaty on a charge of assault, lm> been committed for trial.
