AUCKLAND v. AUSTRALIA.
[PER UNITED PRESS ASSCIATION.J Auckland, December 8. The match Between the Australian Eleven and the Auckland twenty-two was resumed to-day. The attendance was 1 800. On Tuesday evening when play ceased, the Australians' second innings stood at 98 for one wicket, and Palmer (50) and Trumble (15). The innings produced 225, Auckland requiring 216 to win, started their second innings very disastrously, and had no fewer than 15 wickets down for 44 runs when play stopped. Evans and Spofforth were in rare form with the ball and did almost what they liked with the Auckland batsmen. The match was drawn. Bowling analysis — Evans, 83 balls, 15 runs, 15 maidens, 7 wickets; Spofforth, 88 balls, 23 runs, 13 maidens, 7 wickets. The Australian team resumed their voyage to Sydney to-day, per Mararoa shortly after 7 o'clock.
