WEDJfESDAY, BTII DECEMBER, 1886. (Before R. Ward, Esq., E.M.) DOG CASES. C. Bray, Dog-tax Collector for the Manchester Eoad Board District, v. Hokepera, a native woman (with a bath towel on her head as a hood), for having an unregistered dog. She deposed that the dog was hers, and she had offered the Collector ss, but he refused to take any but the whole sum. Verdict for plaintiff with costs, in all 225. Same v. Ben Hurst, for being iihfc owner of two unregistered dogs. He said he did not own them. Fined Ids and costs. Same v Rangipawera, a native lady, for being the owner of an unregistered dog. Defendant was sworn, and stated the dog was not hers, it having come from Turakina a few days ago. Verdict for defendant. CIVIL CASES. H. Penberthy v. George West. — Claim £4 0s 3d. Verdict for plaintiff with costs. W. G. Haybittle v. Charles Vaterson. — Claim £8 7s 6d. Judgment for plaintiff and costs, with counsel's fee £1 Is.
