The market is irregular, and prices are receding — Greasy, £d to Id; scoured, £d to lid; faulty, lid to 2£d below September closing rates. Crossbreds average Id reduction. Competition with the new chp is better, and their are only nominal reductions in the finer sorts. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram ! from their London office, dated 3rd j instant : — Wool. — Since the opening of the sales scoured merino and scoured fine crossbred have declined Id per lb ; ) scoured coarse crossbred has also declined id to Id per lb. Long staple ' merino, greasy, of the new clip, is in demand.
