A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, — Will you kindly allow me space to refer to an article whieh appeared in the Adocate about 2 weeks ago, on the challenge Band Boys v. tbe Manchester Rifles. I admit the challenge was given on Thursday night, the match to be fired on Saturday. Finding the Rifles could not get their team together on that day as many of them were busy shearing. Mr Daw was asked to postpoue the event until some more conveuient time. On seeing a letter in tbo Advocate, I got a team together on Monday, and asked the Band to fire the match on the following Saturday. Now they say they won't fire at all. My belief is "they think the Manchester Rifles team is too good for them, and that is their chief reason for not coming forward. Now, sir, to show the Manchester Rifles are not afraid of the Band Boys, as they term themselves, a challenge has been sent to theni offering to fire six men to eight, or eight men to ten, whichever they choose. — I am &c, T. Evans.
