The Feilding Star. THURSDAY, DEC. 2, 1886. The Land for the Peeple
I i Never sinoe the first settlers arrived j in the colony has there been such a splendid opportunity offered as that which appears to-day in our advertising columns from the Emigrant and Colonists' Aid Corporation, for persons who are desirous of creating a home for themselves and families, at the same time making provision for their declining years. The advertisement gives the most copious information on all points, and we need only refer in passing to the extreme liberality of the
proposals. The land in this settlement ! is well known to be equalled by none , in the colony for its extreme fertility j [ and capacity for carrying great and : small cattle. The roads are excellent ! and a person leaving Wellington in ! the morning by train can be brought ! to Feilding, and driven thirty or forty j miles int© tbe country before night j fall, so that much time and money ' can be saved in that direction, by , : I those who desire to examine the sections with a view to purchase. New arrivals in the colony will find : ,this a great convenience as thoy can leave their families' at the port until they havo decided as to their future movements. The great point is that ; every shilling of the new settlers capital can be invested in stocking and improving the land, and three years I must elapse before he can be called on to pay a single farthing.
