The Mayoral Elections
■ (.PEB UNITED PBESB ABBOCICTION.I Wanganui, November 24. The Mayoral elections resulted as follows :— James Laird, 244; Henry Nathan, 123; majority for Laird, 121. Wellington November 24. The election for Mayor created a gaod deal of excitement in town today, and resulted in the return of Mr Samuel Brown, the well-known contractor. The numbers were: — Mr Samuel Brown, 864 ; , George Fisher, 645 ; majority for Mr Brown, 219. Palm kston Nobth, Thi« Day. Messrs Ludolph George West and John Poulter Leary were the only candidates for the Mayoralty yesterday. The result was as follows :— West, 134; Leary, 131. ;■■■•, Mabton, This Day* Mr Snelgrove was eleoted" Mayor of Marton. > Alexander Milne was yesterday re- j elected Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council.
