Wednesday, 24th November, 1886. (Before E. Ward, Esq., E.M.) tmREOIBTBHI3I> DOGS. Harry Hughes was charged on the information of H. Eocco, Eegistrar . for the County of Manawatu, with J having two dogs unregistered in his possession. Mr Sandilands appeared for the prosecution. ' Hughes was fined 5s and costs in. each case. D. E. Amesbury was also charged by the same registrar with having two dogs unregistered in his possession. Mr Staite appeared for the accused, and Mr Sandilands for the prosecutor. H. Eocco deposed he had called on Amesbury, who lived in the county, on April 1, and saw the dogs at his house ; Amesbury admitted ownership, but had not the change to pay for them; the dogs were still unregistered.. ;. For the defence Mr Staite contended the dops were wrongly described, also that Mr Eocco had no right- to lay the information, as .Mr Amesbury was now a resident of the Borough. After hearing evidence of defendant in support, His Worship said he did not think he could convict oh the information, as it stated that on the 10th of November he was in possession, of certain dogs, which at that time; were in the Borough of Feilding. The dogs can now be only registered in Feilding. Information dismissed. The Court then adjourned
