«. [per united press association.] Palmkbston Nobtp, T!n« Day. Tho first show of tho Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association held yesterday was a splendid success. The exhibits were numeroas and of first class quality, from all parts of tho coapt. Tho attendance of the pub- • lie was oyer two thousand. About £120 being taken at the gate which will leave the Society a surplus of oyer £100 after paying every liability. Baker's Hippocampus was the champion thoroughbred, and Prince Victor the champion draught, stallions. A. A. Fanthain secured the most points in cattle. R. Hamilton the most in Lincoln sheep, and R. Cobb the most in Roinney. M. Prendergast took ' the N. Z. L. and M. A. Co.'s prize for most points for breeding sheep.
