Land Sale The sale by order of the Public Trustee, of land in Bulls, being part of the estate of Mr J. P. Hammond deceased, was held yesterday at the auction rooms of Messrs F: E. Jacksen & Co., Feilding, Mr Sherwill weilding the hammer. Lot 1. — A lease of 449 acres was passed in at 10s 3d, the reserve being 1 2s per acre, "but was disposed after the sale to Col. Gorton at 10s 3d. Lot : 2.— Farm of 37£ acres was passed in at £5 per acre. Lot 8. — One acre in the township of Bulls with buildings, &c. was, sold for £70. Mr William Brian being the purchaser. Wool, Meat, and Tallow The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram from their London office, dated 2nd inst : — Wool. The fourth series of wool sales closed to-day. As compared with the closing rates of the third series prices for the following descriptions have advanced as under :— Greasy merino, l£d to 2d per lb ; combine: (washed) 2d to 2Jdperlb ; medium and inferior merino, Id to l£d per lb ; long staple merino (scoured) 2Jd to 3d per lb ; clothing (washed) H to 2d per lb; long staple merino (scoured), 2d to 2£d per lb ; fine greasy crossbred 2d I to 2£d per lb ; fine greasy crossbred, 2d per lb ; coarse scoured greasy crossbred lambs, Id per lb ; greasy merino lambs, 2dperlb ; A good many second hand parcels have been offered during the past sales. The totnl quantity sold during the series is 266,000 bales Seven thousand bales have been held over for further disposal and 1 12,000 bales taken for the Continent. Tallow—Market firmer, and there is a good Continental demand for low ; and medium sorts. Frozen meat.— Arrivals are in excess of trade requirments, and the market consequently is weak.
