News from Kunberley
Our Special Correspondent writes under date of August 11, 1886: — " We are twelve days out from Derby and all well. We are meeting men and drays coming from the diggings. Water is very scarce on the road. The news are not very good and no one should leave New Zealand for some time to come. Laing and party are all well, and Jackman is getting along all right." We are pleased to note the Feilding men are pushing on to the front and intend to give the field a fair trial before they condemn it as a " duffer."
