A fire took place in Auckland on Thurs day night in a cottage in Wvndhan street, occupied by Mr C. E. Madden solicitor, formerly in practice in Marton One of his sons, William Samuel, agei five years, was burned to death. Th cause of the fire was the explosion of i kerosme lamp. Feilding, says " the Feilding forwards played a hard bullocking game not pretty to look at, but useful for their backs. A few of them still maintain their reputation for noise, which was co noticible last year."
