A WANT
TO THE EDITOR OF THK STAR
Sir, — There is no person, not excepting the best educated, who has not almost daily occasion to refer to a dictionary. The Feilding Public Reading Boom for its size, is probably one of the best provided and conducted institutions of the kind in the Colony, but while it is furnished with a few works of reference it does not possess one of the description referred to, so essential to newspaper and general readers. A copy of a capital standard edition, published so late as the present year, may be obtained in the town for the sum of five shillings, and I would respectfully suggest to the Library Committee that they purchase one to place on the shelf with the other feooks of reference, by doing which they would supply a want often felt and expressed by frequenters of the room. — I am &c, Reader.
