New Zealand Students at Edinburgh University
(PER UNITKD PRE S ISSOCIAfIOV) Dunkdin, September 12. Information received shows that New Zealand was represented by five repiesentativcs at the final examination for decrees F., D-, C-, and G. at Edinburgh, Messrs King, Jeffcott, Lindsay, Cunningham, and Hawkes ail securing distinction. Mr Turl«y Kine, of Taranaki, secured the blue ribbon of the medical •chool, Ettle's prize, having ©nly beaten Jeffcott, of Otag«, only on the record of the earliest examination. Both have secured position! in the infirmary. Jeffeott, who received his early training at the Olago Medical School, won the Stark fellowship of £100, the holders of which must engage in original research. He also secured the Blancy scholarship of £60, and he held the highest place for the Buchanan and James Scott schoolar- ! ship, but these he eoultl not hold with the Stark scholarship.
