<P«r •.«. Waihara at the Bluff.) Poet Dabwiv, August 11. Eoporta from Kimberley continue i» be of the most conflicting nature, hut a general impression gain* ground that the value of the field has been over-estimated. Many recent arrivals started for die field, but having net irienda- returning who reported that ih« Held was unpayable, the< majority dscided to return also. < There are about 300 men now on the diggings, but I* considered doutful whether these' are making wages. They report that 100 meu an* on their way back. The man urop«*e siayiag hero, in the hope of obtaining work on the railway. The «scoxi- this week brought down 1500 ounces of gold, including 392 Aumces from 76 tons ef quartz. (This telegram is Tory contradictory. It £rst say» the -field is over estimated, then that only 300 men are on the •diggins, and concludes by saying the «scort brought down 1,500 of gold. Now, as this is worth about £6000, it is very fair wages for 300 men for the ah«rt time- they hare been at work.)
