L?IB UVITBP PIHM AMOCIATIOK] Wkliicgtox, June 18. The Collector «1 Customs at Wan* ganui reports that the schooner Pelican, titttber-laden, has Veen washed ashore on the Waitotara beach, bottom up. All hands are supposed to be lost. The Pelican was a Tessel of 69 tons. Ho information has been obtained as to where the Pelican wan bound to. She was bound frem Kaipara to Ljrttelton, laden with timber, most of which is obn^igned to Mr John Waller, of this town, who is the owner efthe resael. The Pelican was insured for £500 in the N.Z. o£Sc# and Mr Waller's portion of the cargo Was insured for nearly £300 in the same office. The' mate leaves a wife and fami j in Lyttelton, 1
