Charing Cross Minstrels
Tim afcoye amateur company gave an eutertaiamjsat in the Town Hall last evening in aid of the sufferers hf the recent Terawera catastrophe. Tjie attendance was verj fair, and the s^ow good.* The first part consisted of the usual "chair" business, tw., songs and Jokes, with "bones" and; "tanfoo" at the corners. Mr F. Keen acted the part of "ICrfonnson" ▼cry efficiently. The second part cousisW ofSongs and danoing. In this Mr Turner oentribntei to the enjovpent of the etwiing with his well-known and excellent etep danoing. Mr Beading, Mr C. Btafte, and Mr Keen also sang songs, and Mr J. Murray danced a sand-jTg. After an intermission of a few minutes the farce " Chinese Servants" was plajed. The orchestra, under Mr J. Curreen, Which played opening pieses and accompaniments to the sengs^ was a great lmproTemeni. After the show a dance was held, and kept up until an early hour this morning.
