Redistribution of Seats
In an article on the above, the Post gays :— " Coming now to the North, we find that one of the new seats must necessarily be given to Wellington City, which even then will be under represented to the extent of nearly a third of a member. The Hutt, Foxton, and the two Wairarapa districts will, in block, be under represented to an extent which, with the overplus from the city, will represent half a member, but considerably more than half this again 4s required to bring the four "West Coast districts up to an average of the quota, while tho three Turanaki districts absorb most of the balance. The" West Coast of the southern part of the North Island ia in faot indebted to the extent of half a member." This will be a nice, easy, arithmetical problem for members, to worry over.
