"A Gross Travesty of Justice"
TnE Owhaoko and Kaimanawa Native Lauds Bill is an Act introduced by the Hon. Mr Ballance for the reinvestigation into the native title to the above land. In a note affixed to the Bill the Premier says — " Ido not care to comment upon the various persons whose action I have had to allude te in the memorandum. The facts are sufficient without comment. A more gross travesty of justice it has never been my fortune to consider." Yesterday Mr W. F. Buckland had the following question on the Order Paper:— (l) "Whether the Dr Buller mentioned in the Premier's memorandum annexed in the Owhaoko and Kaimanawa Native Lands BiU is the Bame Dr Buller whose services were scoured last session as a Commissioner for the London Colonial Exhibition ? (2) Whether the thousand pounds, or any portion of it, authorised to be paid last session to. certain Natives under the heading of " Himutangi rental" was handed over to Dr Buller on the strength ef some old Native orders which he produoed ?
