The Victorian Parliament- was opened to-day by his Exoellenoy the Governor, Sir Henry Loch, Mr A. McGregor, who was one of those drowned by the sinking of the Ly-ee-moon, is stated to be the son of a hotelkeeper in Duaedin. Sailed this afternoon — Te Anna for New Zealand.
The Melbourne City Council kai had under consideration an application for the use of the Town Hall for a Nationalist meeting in support of Gladstone's Irish proposals, and after some discussion the application was refused.

The Government have promised to in« sti t ute a searching inqniry into the loss of the Ly-ee-moon. At a public meeting held last night resolutions were adopted approving of the tariff proposals of the Government.
Brisbane, June 2.
The sailors on board the Auckland Harbor Board Dredge, " Number One Hundred and Twenty-one," which has arrived here from Glasgow, have refused to proceed to sea in her. The dredge ran ashore while coming through the Red Sea, and the men allege that in consequence she is nnsea worthy in her present condition.
