The Australian mails, dated Melbourne
April 18th, per Carthage, were delivered to-day, via Brindisi.
In the Commons last night, Mr H. H. Fowler, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, stated in reply to a question, that he was not aware that Germany had made arrangements to oharge 2£d for postage of letters to Australia, Mr Fowler added be had reasons to believe the colonies belonging to the Postal Union objected to any reductions in the rate of postage.
